Twtpoll Becomes a Little More Friendly to its International Users!

Posted: July 10th, 2010 | Author: Felipe | Filed under: Twtpoll
| |

Twtpoll has been used by many people around the world and has maintained a constant strong usage in some countries. The top countries are: United States, Germany, Chile, Brazil. (A few months ago, we saw huge uses coming from Thailand and South Korea.)

These make the following languages very popular on our site:

  • English
  • Spanish
  • German
  • Portuguese
  • French

So, we’ve changed the way we generate automatic tweets based on the language use in the polls. For example, we now use specific hashtags for #poll, #Umfrage, #encuesta, #enquetes and #sondage

Not only that, but Twtpoll has a bot account (@twtpoll_alerts) which sends alerts when your poll closes, so you can check out the results. These alerts are sent in the language which you created your poll.

We’re going to be adding more languages soon. So, if you’d like to help us translating these couple of messages to your language, we would REALLY appreciate it! :)

Twtpoll Releases New Features

Posted: June 23rd, 2010 | Author: Felipe | Filed under: TwtSurvey, Twtpoll
| |

Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve been working on some feature requests by some users. There are still a few more under-development, but we wanted to share some of them with you now.

Before we get to them, we’d like to share an awesome fun intro to Twtpoll.
See it below and let us know what you think!

Now, what’s new?

1) Private Results and Custom Thank you Page (Twtpoll)

If you use TwtSurvey, you’re already familiar with this option. It’s now also available for polls. Basically you can create private polls, so that only you can have access to the results!

On top of it, you can add a custom ‘thank you’ message for after the poll is answered. In this message you can include an invitation to a Tweetup (Twtvite), a link to a Contest (TwtAway) or even a Coupon (TwtQpon)!

Let’s say you want to get feedback about one of your products, but you don’t really want to share the results with the world. Now you can use Social Media to get valuable insights to be used internally.

Available in the Plus / Premium Plans.

2) Custom Demographics (Twtpoll + TwtSurvey)

Twtpoll had made available some demographic questions so you could filter your responses by Gender, Age, Income Level, etc., as well as ask additional information such as Twitter handler, email address, etc.

Well, not all polls are made equal, so now you can add your own custom demographic questions! Let’s say you want to know from the people answering your polls/survey who owns a car. After you gather all of the answers you can filter the results and quickly see the answers of people who own a car.

Available in the Plus / Premium Plans.

3) Print and Export (TwtSurvey)

You can now print your surveys/results and export them to Excel for further analysis.

Available in the Premium Plan.

4) Required Questions (TwtSurvey)

You can have some questions in your survey to be required before the survey to be submitted.

5) Random Choice Options

If you’re asking people to choose something that they’d prefer among several options, usually the first options can have a slightly advantage and skew the results. So you can have the choices display at random order for every new visitor.

Thanks to all of our users who have tweeted and emailed suggestions!

How you can use Twtvite to increase sales at your restaurant

Posted: June 17th, 2010 | Author: Sylvie | Filed under: Twtvite

A growing number of companies are turning to social media to increase sales and traffic. Engaging with their customers through direct communication using tools such as Twitter is a great way to do so.

AJBombers, a restaurant located in Milwaukee has been mentioned in many articles, remarkably in the Wall Street Journal, regarding their important and fruitful use of social media.

AJ Bombers uses Twtvite on a regular basis to promote events at their restaurant as a way to bring regulars as well as new customers in. Here’s what AJ Bombers’ co-owner Joe Sorge had to say when we asked him a few questions about using Twtvite.

What/Who is AJ Bombers?
JS: AJBombers is a burger joint in Milwaukee, WI that has been built upon social media alone. I can’t recall a time when we’ve paid to advertise ourselves.

What made you look for/use such an application? What was your plan?
JS: I needed a simple way to invite others involved in social media to an event and Twtvite spoke their language.

How did you promote your events/special nights etc. before Twitter?

JS: Typically by utilizing only “four walls marketing” as well as email.

Have you noticed an increase in sales/customers since you started using Twtvite?
JS: I have noticed an increase for sure, each time an event is upcoming our regulars begin to ask about the Twtvite.

Does your number of followers have a direct impact on your sales?
JS: Of course there is a undeniable correlation between reach and sales, yes.

There was a lot of buzz about the huge gathering of Tweeps at your restaurant to get the Foursquare Swarm Badge. What sort of impact does an event like that have?
JS: The key is in the creation of a “community” of customers and both Twtvite and foursquare help to foster that feeling.

Any extra thoughts? Things you’d like to share? Tips for other restaurants who want to start using Twitter/TwtVite?
JS: Without sounding like I’m selling something, yes. Visit http://twitterworks.tv and checkout the free preview of our book that’s written for that exact reason: to share the tools for success with social media.

If you’re in the Milwaukee area and would like to learn more, stop by AJ Bombers on June 20 for the #TwitterWorks Typo Party. See info below.

Make sure to check out AJ Bombers’ Twtvite page for their next events! You can also follow them on Twitter. :)

Embed Twtvite on Your Facebook Fan Page!

Posted: June 11th, 2010 | Author: Felipe | Filed under: Twtvite
| |

There are a few different ways that you can embed Twtvite on your website, as we’ve written previously:

  • Embed Twtvite (Event info, List of who’s going, Sponsors)
  • Upcoming Tweetups (share the list of events you’ve RSVP’ed)
  • Location Widget (share all events in your country/state/city)

We’ve now added the option for you to share it on your Facebook Fan Page. It’s slightly different than using the other widgets as Facebook doesn’t allow JS scripts. For detailed instructions, please go here.

Organizing Tweetups with Twtapps – a video from one of our users

Posted: June 8th, 2010 | Author: Felipe | Filed under: TwtBizCard, Twtvite

One of our long-time user, Keith Crawford (aka @tsudo), who organizes the Little Rock Tweetups has created a great video describing how to user Twtvite and TwtBizCard to organize Tweetups and all of the features they like about it.

We have added this video to our home page, as we think it does a pretty good job highlighting some of the main features of Twtvite for other people looking for an event organizer application.

You can read Keith’s blog here, follow him on Twitter, and if you’re in the Little Rock (AR) area, be sure to join their Tweetups!
