Five Changes to Twtvite (We hope you like them!)
June 12th, 2009

This week we rolled out some changes to Twtvite, as you may have noticed.

The first change to the site as a whole is the Support/FAQ page. This will help explaining a little about what Twtvite is and what you can do with it; how to do it; and why you should use Twtvite. This page was created based on some questions we received from people using the site for the firt time.

Change #1

The major change to the site is the way you RSVP now. You no longer have to tweet your RSVP. We use Twitter oAuth authentication to verify the Twitter account answering to a Twtvite.

The reasons for this change were: (1) We had some users who didn’t like the idea of “having to tweet” in order to RSVP to an event, also when a lot of your followers would RSVP to the same event (or others) it would look “spammy” in some people’s stream. (2) Twitter Search has become very unreliable, skipping updates from some people all together, also it was a chanllege for people who choose to have their updates protected.

Change #2

You now have a vanity url that will display all of your Upcoming Tweetups (that you’re organizing or attending) and your Past Tweetups. This page can also be branded with your Twitter profile info (see example).

Change #3

When you’re looking at the list of people who are attending a Tweetup, at the More Info option, we added information about other Tweetups each person is also attending.

(While you’re there, be sure to check out the Print name tags option)

Change #4

The way you manage and update your Tweetups has also changed. There is NO hidden admin url for a Twtvite. You simply go to My Twtvite (link on the top right of the page). You will find information about your Upcoming Tweetups, Past Tweetups and RSVPs (and be able to edit/cancel tweetups you created, and modify your RSVPs.

Change #5

Twtvite now has a light version for mobile devices. Simply go to http://twtvite.com from your mobile device. :)

Those are all of the changes for now. As always, please keep giving us feedback!

How can you use twtapps to promote your business on Twitter?
June 5th, 2009

Twitter is very hot right now and many businesses are creating new accounts and trying to find ways to use it to promote their products/services effectively.

We, at Twtapps, have been working really hard to provide tools that might help you accomplish just that. So, out of our ten applications, we’ll talk about how you could use (and how some other businesses have been using) them.

There are many way you can use Twtpoll. Whatever your objective is, you always get something very valuable from it: feedback from your customers/followers.

Engage with your visitors on your Website: You can embed your Twtpoll on your website, as MSNBC Lex18 haven been using, or link from an article, as Yahoo News does.

Start a conversation with your followers: You can ask questions related to your industry and start building a strong relationship with your followers, as @GoBankingRates.

Get Re-tweeted: @retweet created a fun poll a few months ago asking “Who should be the first honorary King of Twitter?” and he got @iamdiddy and @snoopdogg (and their followers) to re-tweet his poll. That’s a good way to get your Twitter profile passed around.

Business decisions: Get your followers involved into the decision making process for your products, like @orli did here.

Most of the people using Twtvite have been using it to organize casual events. This is a great way to bring your relationship with your followers to the next level. So, how can you use Twtvite in your business?

Networking at conferences: @RichardAtDELL organized the “AllHat…No Cattle” Tweetup during SxSW for 279 people.

Local Tweetups: @chrispirillo often organizes Seattle Tweetups and we host ours regularly in Montreal.

Host a Tweetup: Besides connecting with your followers in real life and engaging with the local community, you can actually bring some business to you! The Max Hotel in Seattle hosts regular Tweetups. If you run a bar, restaurant, cafe, etc. You can also do the same.

Online coupons are hotter than ever. After DELL made $1 million last year on Twitter, twtQpon is here to help you increase your sales using Twitter as well. TwtQpon must be used as a combination of other marketing initiatives. If you provide value and you’re well engaged with your network, they will spread your online coupons for you.

Exclusive Twitter discounts: @NAKEDpizza have been using TwtQpon for exclusive lunch discount and they have been able to measure an increase in 15% sales. @Ticketmaster has also been using TwtQpon to manage their online coupons.

Event discounts: You could also pick a day of the week and provide discounts to encourage your community to tweetup at your venue. @HalemLanes in NewYork City with Twitter Tuesdays.

You can also leverage your network and make it stronger by posting your job openings through Twtjobs. You followers will try to find good candidates, re-tweet it and pass it to their followers.

Once again, you’re using this tool to help find the best candidate for a position while engaging with your followers at the same time.

Many people have started adding their Twitter handler on their business cards. Some of us have decided to quit using paper business cards. The simple act of exchanging #twtBizCards is a conversation started, as you tweet your Twitter Business Card.

Say Goodbye to Business Cards as you know it!
May 19th, 2009

We’d like to announce our newest twtapps today: TwtBizCard is your Twitter business card application that lets you send an electronic business card via Twitter by adding #twtbizcard to a @reply.

I had thought about a business card application a long time ago, but never really thought of a good way to do it. It’s a problem that many people face: from the cost of designing and printing business cards to the number of them you receive when you go to events/conferences often.

Last week, I was talking to @twittdeal on the phone about twtQpon and she mentioned some of her frustrations with business cards and that it would be a good idea to have a Twitter Business Card application. It was then, when it finally clicked a good way to do it.

So, thanks @twittdeal for the suggestion!

TwtBizCard is very simple. All you do is add #twtbizcard to a @reply. That’s it! You don’t have to set it up before or anything… The person you’re sending it to doesn’t even need to know what TwtBizCard is.

When we see that hashtagged tweet, we create your business card with your basic Twitter information and make it available to the people you sent it to. At any time, you can change your information and the new info will be instantly available.

Print name tags for your next Tweetup
May 11th, 2009

Twtvite has added a simple feature some users have been asking for. You can now print name tags for your Tweetups. We get the Twitter picture, @name, and real name of all of the people who RSVP “yes” or “maybe” (just in case they decide to show up.)

You’re still going to need to adjust it a little to make sure the right number and spacing per page are correct. The link to it can be found in the “Who’s going?” section of your twtvite.

We hope many of you will find it useful and, as always, we’d love to hear your feedback!

Send your Twitter profile with your twtpolls
April 11th, 2009

twtpoll

Last week we release a new feature on Twtpoll that has shown to be very valuable for some of our users. You can now leverage the viral nature of Twitter and send your Twitter profile with the polls you create.

Here’s how it works! If you choose to upgrade your polls (one-time fee - and the best part we’ll describe below), we’ll display your Twitter background and your basic information (#followers/#following/#updates + description + link to your website + location) with all of your Twtpolls.

As people come to answer your polls and retweet them, your profile goes with it. That way, people get a chance to learn more about the person/business behind the questions and possibly start a conversation or start following you.

We want all of our services to remain simple and free. This upgrade is only for people who finds it valuable for the way they use Twitter.

To customize/upgrade your twtpolls:

  1. Click here
  2. Enter your Twitter name
  3. See what your polls will look like
  4. One-time fee (for all of your current and future polls)
  5. You pay what you want.
You decide how much this service is worth for you!

We hope this feature will enhance the way you use Twitter and Twtpoll.

Here are some of the users who have upgraded their twtpolls. Check out their latest polls:

Let us know if you have any questions or suggestions.
We always love to hear what you all think!
