Twtvite + TwtBizCard sitting in a tree…
January 13th, 2010

Twtapps founder, Felipe Coimbra, presented some changes to TwtBizCard with the Montreal Tech Community at the Montreal NewTech Meetup last night. If you haven’t used it before, check out our demo below about how it works.

What we’re trying to do is to create a viable replacement for traditional business cards, especially for people using Twitter as their main communication tool.

Here are some of the main changes:

1) Support for other social networks

You can now add links to any other social network you belong to: Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, etc. Anywhere you might want people to be able to contact/connect with you.

2) Widget + Public Profiles

You can now embed your TwtBizCard to your website/blog and have the option to make your contact information available publicly.

3) Integration with Twtvite

Twtvite is one of the most used applications for managing and organizing Tweetups with over 300 upcoming events at any moment worldwide. Now, when you RSVP to an event, your TwtBizCard is automatically swapped and grouped, so  it’s easier to connect with other attendees before and after an event. You can see our quick demo about this integration below:

4) Optimized mobile version for SmartPhones

We want to make it very easy to access and send TwtBizCard in a tweetup setting. Simply access http://twtbizcard.com from your smart phone and you will be able to send a Twitter Business Card just as easy as it takes you to handle a traditional paper one.

When you’re looking at one’s TwtBizCard from your mobile device, you can make alls, send SMS, email easily with the click of a button. Check out or quick demo below:

How can you use twtapps to promote your business on Twitter?
June 5th, 2009

Twitter is very hot right now and many businesses are creating new accounts and trying to find ways to use it to promote their products/services effectively.

We, at Twtapps, have been working really hard to provide tools that might help you accomplish just that. So, out of our ten applications, we’ll talk about how you could use (and how some other businesses have been using) them.

There are many way you can use Twtpoll. Whatever your objective is, you always get something very valuable from it: feedback from your customers/followers.

Engage with your visitors on your Website: You can embed your Twtpoll on your website, as MSNBC Lex18 haven been using, or link from an article, as Yahoo News does.

Start a conversation with your followers: You can ask questions related to your industry and start building a strong relationship with your followers, as @GoBankingRates.

Get Re-tweeted: @retweet created a fun poll a few months ago asking “Who should be the first honorary King of Twitter?” and he got @iamdiddy and @snoopdogg (and their followers) to re-tweet his poll. That’s a good way to get your Twitter profile passed around.

Business decisions: Get your followers involved into the decision making process for your products, like @orli did here.

Most of the people using Twtvite have been using it to organize casual events. This is a great way to bring your relationship with your followers to the next level. So, how can you use Twtvite in your business?

Networking at conferences: @RichardAtDELL organized the “AllHat…No Cattle” Tweetup during SxSW for 279 people.

Local Tweetups: @chrispirillo often organizes Seattle Tweetups and we host ours regularly in Montreal.

Host a Tweetup: Besides connecting with your followers in real life and engaging with the local community, you can actually bring some business to you! The Max Hotel in Seattle hosts regular Tweetups. If you run a bar, restaurant, cafe, etc. You can also do the same.

Online coupons are hotter than ever. After DELL made $1 million last year on Twitter, twtQpon is here to help you increase your sales using Twitter as well. TwtQpon must be used as a combination of other marketing initiatives. If you provide value and you’re well engaged with your network, they will spread your online coupons for you.

Exclusive Twitter discounts: @NAKEDpizza have been using TwtQpon for exclusive lunch discount and they have been able to measure an increase in 15% sales. @Ticketmaster has also been using TwtQpon to manage their online coupons.

Event discounts: You could also pick a day of the week and provide discounts to encourage your community to tweetup at your venue. @HalemLanes in NewYork City with Twitter Tuesdays.

You can also leverage your network and make it stronger by posting your job openings through Twtjobs. You followers will try to find good candidates, re-tweet it and pass it to their followers.

Once again, you’re using this tool to help find the best candidate for a position while engaging with your followers at the same time.

Many people have started adding their Twitter handler on their business cards. Some of us have decided to quit using paper business cards. The simple act of exchanging #twtBizCards is a conversation started, as you tweet your Twitter Business Card.

Say Goodbye to Business Cards as you know it!
May 19th, 2009

We’d like to announce our newest twtapps today: TwtBizCard is your Twitter business card application that lets you send an electronic business card via Twitter by adding #twtbizcard to a @reply.

I had thought about a business card application a long time ago, but never really thought of a good way to do it. It’s a problem that many people face: from the cost of designing and printing business cards to the number of them you receive when you go to events/conferences often.

Last week, I was talking to @twittdeal on the phone about twtQpon and she mentioned some of her frustrations with business cards and that it would be a good idea to have a Twitter Business Card application. It was then, when it finally clicked a good way to do it.

So, thanks @twittdeal for the suggestion!

TwtBizCard is very simple. All you do is add #twtbizcard to a @reply. That’s it! You don’t have to set it up before or anything… The person you’re sending it to doesn’t even need to know what TwtBizCard is.

When we see that hashtagged tweet, we create your business card with your basic Twitter information and make it available to the people you sent it to. At any time, you can change your information and the new info will be instantly available.
