Twtvite has made available a new Location Widget. This widget allows you to link to a list of the most popular Tweetups around the world (similar to the list on our home page.)
You can customize it to display Tweetups by country or state/region.
An example can be found at the end of the right sidebar of this page. For more information and configurations, check out our developer API page.
We have released our first (limited read-only) developer API for Twtvite. Other developers can now import Twtvite data into their applications.
This is the very first step of what will be available through our APIs and we’ll be working with a few developers, so they can get the access they need to enhance their application or integrate it with Twtvite (and our other apps).
Last Saturday, Twtvite turned ONE year old. We launched on Jan 9, 2009 with this coverage from TechCrunch. Since then our services have improved tremendously thanks to our thousands of users.
We wanted to recognize some of our many Tweetup organizers. So here’s who organized the most number of Tweetups in 2009:
Twtapps founder, Felipe Coimbra, presented some changes to TwtBizCard with the Montreal Tech Community at the Montreal NewTech Meetup last night. If you haven’t used it before, check out our demo below about how it works.
What we’re trying to do is to create a viable replacement for traditional business cards, especially for people using Twitter as their main communication tool.
Here are some of the main changes:
1) Support for other social networks
You can now add links to any other social network you belong to: Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, etc. Anywhere you might want people to be able to contact/connect with you.
2) Widget + Public Profiles
You can now embed your TwtBizCard to your website/blog and have the option to make your contact information available publicly.
3) Integration with Twtvite
Twtvite is one of the most used applications for managing and organizing Tweetups with over 300 upcoming events at any moment worldwide. Now, when you RSVP to an event, your TwtBizCard is automatically swapped and grouped, so it’s easier to connect with other attendees before and after an event. You can see our quick demo about this integration below:
4) Optimized mobile version for SmartPhones
We want to make it very easy to access and send TwtBizCard in a tweetup setting. Simply access http://twtbizcard.com from your smart phone and you will be able to send a Twitter Business Card just as easy as it takes you to handle a traditional paper one.
When you’re looking at one’s TwtBizCard from your mobile device, you can make alls, send SMS, email easily with the click of a button. Check out or quick demo below:
Many of our users who host Tweetups every month have been asking for an easier way to duplicate the previous Tweetup information for the following month.
On Twtvite, you can now copy any of your previous Tweetup and create a new one based on it. Check it out below:
(2) You can either go to a Tweetup for which you’re an organizers or to your “My Tweetups.” You will notice a new button/link (Copy.) Simply click on it and we’ll copy that Tweetup’s information. Now you can modify it and easily schedule a new Tweetup!
As always, thank you all very much for the feedback!
Thousands of people have used Twtvite over the pas 10 months to connect with their followers beyond 140 chars. From regular monthly get together to Conference parties, Twitters are organizing Tweetups more and more.
Every month there are hundreds of Tweetups around the world on Twtvite and it is definitely the best solution to help you manage and organize your event. We don’t take all the credit for it. We’re very thankful to our awesome users who helped us shape this product!
We’re constantly adding new features. You can see our quick demo video for a run through the main functionalities and a help for people who have never used our application.
And here are some of the highlights:
You don’t have to be on Twitter to RSVP. Most people who use Twtvite do have a Twitter account, however we don’t want to leave anybody out. So, if you don’t have a Twitter account, simply use your name + email address.
Multiple organizers + Sponsorships. Most events are organized by more than one person. You can list as many organizers as you want. You can also highlight your sponsors/partners so they keep supporting your events.
Photo gallery. We automatically get all photos from TwitPic, TweetPhoto and YFrog using the event #hashtag and build a photo gallery.
Integration with Twtpoll. You can now embed a Twtpoll to your Twtvite.
Twtvite Alerts. We send @replies reminders to everyone who RSVPs to an event 1 week and 1 day before it. It works not only as a reminder to attend the event, but also as a reminder to invite and tweet more about it.
Tweets Search. Often times people link to your event using shorturls services such as bit.ly, tinyurl. We can now find those tweets and display them in your events page.
Are you going to the Search Engine Strategies Conference in Chicago on Dec 7-11? Twtvite is a media partner of the conference, so if you do, create a Tweetup to connect with potential customers and partners.
We’re offering FREE branding to your Twtvite! Just create a Tweetup and let us know about it!
